I only had one job to do.......pick a raffle ticket from a barrel surely even I couldn't mess that up & the rest of the day was all about everyone having fun. I love Jamie's Game, it's a celebrity football match & helps to raise money for my local community to improve the lives of people who can not access sport, helps with educating around sport & healthy lifestyles but personally I love that no one is over looked......it doesn't matter what age you are, your disability or your size there is something that the Community Sports Foundation can find for everyone. They really do change lives.
I know Jamie quite well & we have done several events together & on Sunday he was in his element, what fun everyone had. Jamie is below holding up the cup in the white.
There was so much entertainment with displays of a new fitness craze by KTroo in rebound boots.......don't think i'll be giving that a go I'm far too clumsy but they did make it look easy! The Broadland Youth Choir were amazing, the Angel Baton Twirlers fantastic; they compete at international level, Bills Downs who was on BBC 1's The Voice also performed , there were all sorts of pitch displays, mascots, Tweet a selfie & the text appeal. It was such a great family day out & this year 9,485 fans attended.....that's amazing!
The whole day was so much fun & to think all the proceeds went to charity, I am so lucky to live in Norfolk it is such a caring, supportive community & it's an honor to be an ambassador for the sports foundation.
After the match I had been invited to the after party where I was lucky enough to meet lots of the celebrities. Some I had met last year & it was lovely to catch up with them again. I didn't stay late because I have to be up at 4 am in the mornings for my training sessions so I left after having a quick chat. I must say Stevie Ritchie is a really lovely man & he left an hour before me but he was still just outside the doors signing autographs & having pictures taken, he is so kind he just didn't want anyone to miss out & took the time to speak to everyone.....If you read this Stevie my offer to teach your daughter to swim still stands ;-)
If you are interested in reading the match report you can find it here http://www.communitysportsfoundation.org.uk/news/Jamie_the_star_at_celebrity_match/
Don't forget Jamie's Game will be happening again next year so if you like a fun family day out I highly recommend it!
